We exist to draw you into a closer relationship with Jesus Christ, equipping you to share that relationship with others.
Our vision is to give birth and nurture to individual Christians, small groups and new churches.
The dream for Foothills Community Church began early in 1982 in the
hearts of Pastor Jon and Connie as they were considering a life of
full-time Christian ministry. They dreamed of someday planting a church.
As time went by the children grew and the seminary bills grew bigger and
the dream seemed like na impossibility. But John 12:25 says,
"Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains
by itself alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit." The Lord had
planted that dream and He had the perfect plan. In April 1984, the
Department of Extension and Evangelism of the Wesleyan Church asked them
to start a church in Northwest Tucson. Jon said, "The challenge
seemed so much bigger than us. We knew we would have to depend on the
Lord, and that's the only condition on which we could accept a
call."
During July and August, 1985, young peple came and helped us with
canvassing to find out the spiritual needs in the community and to
invite people to the opening service on September 15. The response was
terrific and since that time we have seen the Lord touch lives and we
continue to grow as people sense His presence among us.
