Pastor Jon & Connie Farmer Senior Pastor After attending Grossmont Jr. College (1968-’70), (San Diego County, California), Jon married Connie Eddy on June 19, 1970. He was drafted into the Army in (1971-’72) and served a tour of duty in Viet Nam, then returned to graduate from San Diego State University in 1975 with a major in Geography and a minor in Geology. After graduation he took a 5th year to receive his California Teaching Credential (’76). While Jon was doing short and long-term substitute teaching, he and Connie volunteered their time working with youth at Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, and in 1978 Jon was asked to come on staff as full-time Youth Pastor. Over the next four years of ministry, they felt God’s call on their lives for full-time pastoral ministry. In 1982 they packed up the family and moved to Wilmore, Kentucky and graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity in 1985. Upon graduation, the Wesleyan Church asked them to plant a church in Tucson, Arizona where they have ministered for the last 23 years. “As we approach the 25th-year Anniversary of Foothills Community Church, we have to say, serving the Lord has been an awesome adventure and we look forward to what the Lord has in the years ahead!” The Farmers have three children and eight (8) grandchildren and another one arriving in August:

Pastor Dustin & Jamie Farmer Church Planter In December of 2000, Dusty and Jamie were visiting family in Tucson, and through a series of events the Lord made it very clear that He wanted them to plant a church here. He would later clarify that call. In July, driving back to Sacramento from District Conference in San Diego, Dusty was the only one awake at 1:00 am and had five hours of driving ahead. In an attempt to stay awake he began to pray, and God took over. Dusty had never had such an actual conversation with God as he brought back His plan for them to plant a church in Tucson. He told God he didn't have the knowledge or abilities to make it work and that if He wanted them to plant a church, He would have to built the team around them that would make it flourish. Immediately God flooded his mind with faces and names of people from all over the place: from school in Oklahoma, people from Tucson and Sacramento. He also laid out a specific time frame, a five-year plan, that would ultimately lead them to Michigan for 3 1/2 years then back to Tucson in June of 2006. He has made His call so clear and confirmed it in so many ways, and the time frame He laid out is still in effect. Dusty is grateful for the opportunity the Lord is giving them, and that He is using the Foothills Family to help make it happen. In March of 2007, 32 people from Foothills commited a year of their life, we commissioned and send out to help Dusty and Jamie start the church in Sahuarita.
